We are glad to announce that the 1st ProcuraMED international workshop, will take place on October 10th, 2024, in Brussels, Belgium, in the framework of the First Institutional Policy Dialogue of the Green Living Areas Mission of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, back to back with the European Week of Regions and Cities.
The workshop aims at activating a mutual learning process based on exchange of expertise and knowledge transfer on green innovation in the MED area and public tendering opportunities in the Green Living Areas. To kick off the discussion, an analysis of a chosen set of well-established and successful policies will be carried on. They are referred as “policy champions” through key cross-cutting elements such as innovation, financing, and community engagement. Each policy will be given dedicated time in parallel discussion groups, to assess the conditions for implementation, adaptation, and replication.
ProcuraMED will deepen in Public procurement of innovative solutions (PPI). Innovation is one of the European answers to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the digitisation of our economies and guaranteeing the security of Europe’s raw materials, energy and food. The New European Innovation Agenda, adopted on 5th July 2022, aims to position Europe at the forefront of innovation and start-ups. The new Agenda will help Europe to develop new technologies that can address its most pressing societal challenges. The Agenda will also support Europe in bringing the new technologies to market, through Innovation Procurement, a pivotal demand-side instrument for modernising public services through innovative solutions, while boosting the growth of innovative companies in Europe.
