ProcuraMED partners of the project have developed and distributed a survey targeting municipalities and businesses. This survey is designed to assess current knowledge and practices in Green Public Procurement (GPP) and Public Procurement Innovation (PPI), which are vital components in promoting sustainability and innovation within the public sector.
Green Public Procurement refers to the process by which public authorities seek to procure goods, services, and works with a reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycle. By adopting GPP practices, municipalities and businesses can contribute significantly to sustainability goals, reduce carbon footprint and foster a market for environmentally friendly products.
Public Procurement Innovation, on the other hand, involves integrating innovative solutions and technologies into procurement processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness and encouraging the development of new products and services.
Through this survey, ProcuraMED aims to evaluate the current level of awareness and understanding of GPP and PPI, among key stakeholders. The survey will explore the challenges and obstacles organizations face in implementing sustainable and innovative procurement solutions. In addition, the consortium seeks to identify successful strategies and highlight best practices that can serve as models for others.
The insights gathered from the survey will be instrumental in shaping customized training programs, tailored to address specific needs of municipalities and businesses. After identifying knowledge gaps and areas for improvement, ProcuraMED will provide targeted training and resources that empower organizations to adopt more sustainable and innovative procurement practices effectively.
